Team JVA were present for the opening test days at Valencia in preparation for the 2009 Formula Master series. Driving the Masters car for the first time were; Henry Surtees and Zoel Amberg.
Driving the No. 29 car was 18 year old Henry Surtees, the son of Formula 1 and Motor Cycle World Champion John Surtees. Henry is now climbing the Motorsport ladder, with past experience in the British Formula Renault and Formula BMW Championships after starting out in Karts.
In the No. 30 car was 16 year old Zoel Amberg from Switzerland. Although in the early stages of single-seater racing, Zoel has come off the back of successful seasons with the Factory Birel Kart team, competing throughout Europe.
The first official test was also the first opportunity for JVA to test with the 2009 update kit, sporting new engine covers and redesigned rear wings as well as air brake ducts and new exhaust systems. Despite being unavailable to test both days Surtees was very impressed, learning a lot about the Masters car, completing a total of 110 laps finishing the first day 13th with a 01.29.044.
Single seater rookie Zoel Amberg made a cautious but competent start to the test, gradually improving throughout the two days, completing 189 laps to finish the final day 11th with a 01.28.260.
Surtees is confirmed for the second test at Imola on 18th & 19th March. However both race seats remain available. Check out our site for further announcements and updates.
