Race 2
For the Sunday race hopes were high for JVA with the cars 4th and 9th on the grid, However a turn in fortune saw a failure in Kennard’s gearbox as a result of the harsh nature of the street circuit during the formation lap. Despite making a subsequently impressive start in 2nd gear; the 29 car could not continue.
From 9th Tappy made a scintillating start passing Arabadzhiev and Liemer through the opening corners, finishing the first lap in 5th, while Provensano crashed out while challenging for the lead.
Tappy maintained a good pace on 5th for much of the race until a late manoeuvre from Puglisi forced the Brit wide, loosing several places and eventually finishing the race 10th.
After a promising opening round Team JVA look forward to continuing at Valencia on 30,31st May.
#29 – Jonathan Kennard - DNF
#30 – Duncan Tappy- 10th
