On Sunday 20th September 2009 under the hot German sun, Sam Village (son of JV) completed the real' Berlin Marathon in a time of 3:20'28.
After narrowly missing out on a top ten finish. He eventually finished 3317 out of 35,033 runners. Haile Gabriselassie won the race in 2:06’08 missing out on an improvement to the world record he set the year before.
A great experience for a good cause firstly, and secondly I'm really pleased with my time. I knew I could go under 3:30 but I didn't know how far under I could go, and it was 25 degrees so maybe if it was cooler I could go faster.... I would like to thank all the people who have given money to Muscular Dystrophy it’s a great cause. I'm amazed with how much we have raised £2000 and counting I think.
He is also running the BUPA Great South Run on Sunday 25th October. So if you haven't donated, please donate at:
